- How do I run HandySwitcher?
The installation program for HandySwitcher will run it automatically for you and the default options will register HandySwitcher to start with your system every time you SoftReset your device.
If you exit HandySwitcher, then you can run it by tapping on its icon in the "Programs" folder, That's StartMenu->Programs->HandySwitcher.
- How do I use HandySwitcher?
Once HandySwitcher is running, it installs a small icon at the top-bar in your screen, to use HandySwitcher, you just need to tap on this icon to bring the menu up, once the menu is shown you can use its many functions.
- How do I know what programs are running?
Bring HandySwitcher's menu up and a list of all running programs will be displayed in the menu along with their respective icons.
- How do I switch between running applications?
Once HandySwitcher's icon is up, if you tap on a program's name in the menu, HandySwitcher will switch you to this program bringing it to the top (making it the active program).
- How do I close a program that's running in the background (not active)?
HandySwitcher makes this a very easy thing to do as you don't have to make this program the active one to close it. In HandySwitcher's menu, if you tap on the [X] icon beside the program name HandySwitcher will close this program for you without the need to switch to it.
- How do I close HandySwitcher's menu without using any of its functions?
HandySwitcher is designed so that, if you tap on its icon the menu will appear, if you tap again on the icon (while the menu is displayed) then the menu will be closed.
Or, using the hardware keys, you can press the left direction key to cancel (close the menu).
- Can I use HandySwitcher's functions with the keyboard?
Definitely, HandySwitcher is the first and only task manager that fully supports keyboard manipulation.
While HandySwitcher's menu is up you can
Navigate : use the up and down direction keys to navigate through the menu items.
Switch : You can switch to any running application by pressing the action button.
Close : You can close any running program by pressing the right direction key
Cancel : You can cancel (close the menu) by pressing the left direction key
You can also assign HandySwitcher to a hardware button to bring its menu up when you press this hardware button.
- How to assign HandySwitcher to a a hardware button?
StartMenu->Settings->Hardware Keys
select the key you want to assign to HandySwitcher from the list and search for HandySwitcher in the drop down list, then tap OK.
- Can HandySwitcher display its icon at the bottom bar?
Yes, HandySwitcher can display its icon at the bottom bar and you can enable/disable this through the options dialog in the display tab.
- How do I go to HandySwitcher options?
Bring HandySwitcher's menu up by tapping on its icon, then tap on the (opt) at the header of the menu.
- Can I close the active program without bringing HandySwitcher's menu up?
HandySwitcher takes control of the (X) button at the top-right hand corner, the default behaviour in the Windows Mobile platform is to minimize the active program when you press on the (X), HandySwitcher adds support for tap-and-hold where you can configure HandySwitcher to close the active application when you tap on the (X) and minimize when you tap and hold (or the other way around).
- Can I prevent certain programs from showing in the menu?
You can do this by adding those programs into your ignore list.
- How can I add programs to the "ignore list"?
Make sure this program is running (the one you want to ad to the ignore list) and go to HandySwitcher's options, enable the ignore list, tap [+] and select your program from the list and close the options dialog.
- Can I prevent certain programs from getting closed when I select
The "close all" action will close all active programs except those in your ignore list.
- Can I prevent certain programs from getting closed using the (X) button?
When you tap on the (X) button, HandySwitcher will always minimize the active application (regardless of your configuration) if this application is in the "ignore list".
- How do I remove programs from the "ignore list"?
Go to HandySwitcher's options and select the program you want to remove from the ignore list and tap [-] to remove this entry.
- Can I disable the "ignore list" functionality without having to remove the programs in the list?
You can do this by going to the options and disabling the "ignore list" using the check box labeled "Ignored list". (you can later re-enable the list through the same check box).
- Why doesn't HandySwitcher display all my running programs?
Please check the "ignore list", HandySwitcher will not show or close the programs in the "ignore list".
If this is not the case, please note that HandySwitcher will only show those programs with a visible window, some utility programs which run in the background don't have any visible windows (like our HandyMwnu and HandyLauncher for example).

- What is the "auto program switch" feature?
Once this feature is enabled, if you open HandySwitcher's menu and navigate through the list of programs in the menu, if you stop moving the selection bar for the number of seconds the "auto program switch" is configured for, HandySwitcher will automatically switch you to this program (like if you pressed the select action key).
This feature can be enabled/disabled from the options menu and the number of seconds HandySwitcher will wait before switching to this program is also configurable.
- How can I change the icon displayed by HandySwitcher?
You can design your own icon (to fit properly with your today screen).
The icon has to be in a bitmap format (.BMP) The size for the QVGA device is 16x16 pixels and for the VGA devices 32x32 pixels and the color RGB(255,0,255) is the transparent color.
You can set HandySwitcher to use your new icon from the options dialog where you have to turn on the custom icon feature and specify the location of your image.
- How can I exit HandySwitcher?
Go to the options dialog, tap on "File" menu item at the bottom and select Exit.
- What are those options for HandyMenu & HandyLauncher?
HandySwitcher has the ability to display shortcuts to our other products HandyMenu & HandyLauncher along with its icon at the top bar for easy accessibility.
- Why do the options for HandyMenu and HandyLauncher are disabled in my device?
Those options are enabled only if you have HandyMenu and/or HandyLauncher installed on the device. Once any of those products is installed HandySwitcher will detect that and will enable it's check box in the options.
- What is the "compact display" option?
This is an option to display HandyMenu's icon and/or HandyLauncher's icon as small arrows under the HandySwitcher's icon to save real state in the top bar and make room for other icons to be displayed there.
- The icons displayed at the top bar hide some other icons, can I move them?
Through the display options you can move any of the displayed icons at the top bar, use the arrows located beside the shortcut name to move the icon for this shortcut left or right.
- Can I hide HandySwitcher's icon?
This can be done through the options as well, where you can turn HandySwitcher's icon at the top bar on and off.
